| My mother was born in Maentwrog in 1928 and her siblings went to the school in Gellilydan. There parents were Irish migrants who lived at the time on top of the mountain in Maentwrog and were employed on the construction of the dam. I would be interested to hear from anybody who has any knowledge of that era.

| My great grandfather Richard William Rowlands was born in Bangor in 1843 and his parents were William Rowlands and Mary Jane Williams. Richard William left Wales in about 1859 and became a coffee planter in Ceylon/Sri Lanka. He had five sisters, Ellen Lloyd who married Robert Jones Griffith about 1859, Mary Elizabeth b 1841,Caroline b 1842,Jane b 1848 and Elizabeth b 1851, they were all born in Bangor in Frondeg Street Bangor, I understand that there are only a few houses left. I would love to get in touch with any of these ancestor's descendants.

| I am descended from William Thomas born in N.Wales about 1795.
He had his own private ferry service from the mainland to Yns Mon, passenger rowing boat. His wife was Catherine Williams born abt.1803. Her mother Jane Williams was a widow and living with them in 1861. She was 83 years old at the time.
Robert Thomas was a son of William & Catherine, he was born about 1843. He was a farmer. He married Margaret Owen, daughter of Henry Owen and Ellin Williams. They lived at Boron Hill, Anglesey.
My father was a child of Robert and Margaret (Owen) Thomas.
He was born in Court Dwyrun, Anglesey on April 11, 1888.
There were many children in this family.
Robert, Charles, Thomas, Owen, William,John, Henry, Margaret, Ann, Ellen Jane. I have photo's of my Aunts and Uncles, also an old family photo, but do not have what names go with which pictures.
My father came to NY State in USA on the ship Carmania. Left Liverpool for NY in 1907, arrived in Ellis Island and went to Remsen, NY to live with his sister Ellen Jane Thomas.
We have a large family on "This side of the pond".
Does these names sound familiar? Do I have relatives in the Anglesey, Gwynedd, Holyhead, etc.
